Attention Issues

Attention Issues

Attention issues can present themselves in a variety of ways and mean different things to different people.

"He bounces off the walls”
“It is like he is living in his own world”
“He is unable to sit still”
“He is totally unaware of surroundings”
“He is so AD/HD”

If you got a group of children with “attention issues” – no two children would exhibit like behaviors.  Nonetheless, most behavioral attention issues present themselves in one/more of the following ways listed below.  If any of them are preventing your child from learning necessary skills, forming meaningful relationships, or accessing reinforcement – treatment is warranted.  What most people don’t realize is that “attention” is a learned behavior and can be taught safely and natural when people are committed to making a change.

  1. Difficulty following instructions
  2. Forgetful
  3. Under reactive to stimuli
  4. Get frustrated with new tasks
  5. Not listening to parents or teachers
  6. Not being able to focus on activities
  7. Disorganized in work
  8. Unable to prepare in advance
