This is designed for behavior analysts, mental health professionals, and special educators. The course will provide scenarios that demonstrate the use of ABA teaching procedures and strategies to enhance communication skills, social interaction skills, cognitive skills, and positive behaviors across a variety of natural contexts. Participants will complete activities to demonstrate implementation procedures for the material learned in the course entitled Implementing ABA within Natural Contexts. They will learn how to use home, school, and community routines and activities to provide quality intervention to children with special needs using ABA procedures such as defining target behaviors, developing data collection procedures, and designing teaching procedures that utilize behavioral principles. Behavioral teaching strategies such as using positive reinforcement, embedded discrete trials, prompting/fading procedures, shaping, task analysis, behavioral momentum, environmental arrangements, contextual support, time delay, and modeling/requesting imitation will be utilized in the scenarios and activities. Eligible for Three Type II CE for Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
